D Fretter is singer/songwriter, poet, and spoken word artist living on the unceded territories of the Semiahmoo First Nation (aka South Surrey BC Canada). As a musician, he draws inspiration from a variety of sources including, OutKast, Kid Cudi, Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley, Sam Cooke, and Sublime (to name a few).

D started writing his own songs after borrowing his older sister’s guitar (without asking) and rapping over guitar chords. Since then he’s made a name for himself as a conversational, heartfelt, lyricist.

His book Joy+Misery charted at number 6 in Canadian Poetry and number 1 in African Canadian Literature on Amazon.
