D. Paul is a visionary/recording artist from Sacramento, a city that shaped his hustle since birth. Starting out in his bedroom closet, he learned to navigate music on his own terms, never losing the passion that kept him creating—even when the world wasn’t listening. Since an adolescent, he had always known music was his calling, but was affirmed by the swaths of people who have been moved by his music since first stepping on the scene in August 2020. By 2021, D. Paul would go on hiatus for nearly 4 years. This would be ended by September 2024, after winning back-to-back freestyle competitions, he solidified his presence, and a return to the throne.

His sound is versatile—he’s equally at home with boom bap, trap, jazz-hop, alternative sounds, or R&B, blending influences like Biggie, Jay-Z, Kanye West, J. Cole, and Kid Cudi. He believes in pushing boundaries, always embracing what makes him different.
