DACY

Siblings Jack and Ruby Dacy have been honing their live craft performing in bars and pubs in the Melbourne scene since 2018 and this year scored the support slot for Pete Murray’s national 30-date tour, wowing audiences. The duo write fiercely honest and hopeful pop anthems, woven together with guitars, pianos and sweet harmonies, working with Grammy award winning producer Jack Joseph Puig (Rolling Stones, U2, John Mayer) and ARIA award winning producer, Pete Dacy (Taxiride, The Androids).

Born in Melbourne into a multi-generational musical family, DACY have grown up with musical influences all around them thanks to their father’s work and love of music. Their stereo speakers emanated the sounds of The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and Crosby Stills & Nash. As Jack and Ruby got older, they discovered and took influence from artists such as Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, Fleetwood Mac and Coldplay. It was a chance encounter with Ed Sheeran that propelled the band into pursuing a career in music – Jack and Ruby met the global superstar outside of a TV studio in Melbourne one night. Despite being jet-lagged and tired, Sheeran stopped and said hello to every fan waiting for him. His warmth and generosity resonated with the band - they went home that night and started writing songs together, making it their mission to always operate like Ed. “His mantra is write songs, do as many gigs as possible and to be nice to people, so that’s what we plan to do” explain DACY.
