Headbanging, foot-stomping guitar rock delivered with intensity and exuberance; since 2019, Dad Patrol has been writing, recording, and performing music that is as compelling as it is weird. Dad Patrol’s unique sound is playful and cohesive with lyrics that share vulnerability through Dobson’s (lead vocals) charming growl. Pleaser, Dad Patrol’s second full-length album is gritty and smooth, telling stories of loneliness and isolation with complex emotion and sound. The lyrics and sound complement each other so well, they could only have been written by childhood best friends. Penny Stevens (Motherhood) explained in Cups n’ Cakes (August 2023) that Dad Patrol’s “greatest strength is their clever use of dynamics, tone and composition to elevate the lyrics and create a second layer of meaning behind each line”. Dad Patrol has been steadily growing a fan base throughout the east coast through self-booked shows around New Brunswick, PEI, and Nova Scotia.
