“Spiritually inspired, globally tinged folk and Americana music is what you’ll find in Dada Veda’s catalogue.” Michael Lohr, “New Renaissance Magazine”
Dada Veda is a singer-songwriter currently based in Urbana, IL. In addition, Dada is a world-travelled meditation and yoga teacher. His music fuses the wisdom of yoga and mysticism with the rhythms of folk, country and Americana music.
Dada began writing songs in 2002 and his first album, “Brighter Than the Sun” was recorded in 2003 in Albania, where he founded and managed a kindergarten in addition to teaching yoga. Writing in “All Access” magazine reviewer Rob Swick described the album as “a set of 13 acoustic songs that should leave the listener uplifted, refreshed, and hopeful for the future.”
In the years since 2003, Dada’s songs have been issued on nine subsequent albums. Songs from his unplugged children’s album “Do What You Can” are played in kindergartens around the world every day.
In 2011 Dada teamed up with rockabilly producer Ron Cannon to issue “As the World Spins Around,” an album which brought together Midwestern folk musicians and singers in an effort which combines mystical songs with tracks addressing contemporary social issues.
In 2016 he released “Trickle on Down,” an album of world music produced by Kali Wale Amen. This album includes reggae, funk and Afro-pop inspired tracks.
