Daddy Teacha (Teacha) ranks as one of the UK's pioneer 'Nu Roots' vocalists.
Starting out in the UK, with Midlands Sound System 'Turbo Charge' in the late 1970's and early 80's he cemented his reputation by recording with seminal Dub outfit Alpha & Omega.
By voicing an A&O riddim and creating 'David and Goliath' (A&O- Everyday Life LP), together they established a UK Roots and Dub classic.
His many appearances and performances include The Heineken Festival, major Universties across the Uk, Glastonbury Festival of Performing Arts, where he has also presents the Daddy Teacha Reggae Show, for the official festival radio stations Radio Avalon and the later replacement station Worthy Fm for over 25 Glastonbury festivals.
Teacha's extensive international performances have seen him perform in Montego Bay/Negril (Jamaica), Canary Islands, Canada, Mexico, Poland, Sweden, France, Croatia, Serbia and Germany.
Air-played on BBC Radio One, BBC Radio 4, BBC 6 Music, Kiss Fm, airplay/interviews for many international broadcasters.
Teacha has performed alongside/supported many highly acclaimed reggae acts, such as:
The Mighty Diamonds, The Abyssinians, Julian Marley, Sly and Robbie,Mad Professor, Gentleman, Pato Banton, Aswad, John Mclean, UK Apache, Sugar Minott,The Heptones, Desmond Decker, Burning Spear, Macka B, Alpha & Omega,The Rooticals, The Di Iries, Iration Steppas, Don Letts, and the Disciples to name but a few.
