Dagmar Wilgo fell in love with recorder when she was a child. Studying "historical instruments, musicology and avant-garde", she has been involved in new and contemporary music for many years. She works with composers such as the jazz clarinetist Lajos Dudás, Hans-Martin Linde, Georg Heike and Matthias Heep. She is considered as “an outstanding musician, very dedicated with a very broad intellectual profile and strong artistic capacities”, according to Bart Spanhove, author and artistic director of Flanders Recorder Quartet. Her love belongs to contemporary music. With “me, myself & i“ she produced an album full of stylistic surprises. This concept is based on an interdisciplinary connection with other art genres, on the one hand in the form of the poem “What it is” by the Jewish poet Erich Fried and on the other the watercolor with ink “Monoceros Emporia” 12/2019 by Paul Morris - Pollux, which adorns the cover and makes “me, myself & i” what it is. Nevertheless Dagmar Wilgo is the founder of the duo “IL PRIMO DOLCIMELO” with harpsichordist Natalia Spehl. Both are committed to the “sensual interpretation of early music based on musicological analysis“. In addition, Dagmar Wilgo gives master classes and workshops worldwide. She lives in Germany.
