Dajaun is a producer/songwriter from Canada made a name for himself at Toronto’s legendary Phase One Studios. Putting his own musical projects aside, he focused on diving head first into engineering and mixing. When the studio announced internally that they would be closing its doors in 2017, Dajaun knew he had one last chance to record his own EP on the Neve console he knew in and out. He immediately booked studio A, for a final session and recorded the bed tracks for what would become ’Social Chameleon’.
Once Phase One Studios closed Dajaun spent the next 2 years working on records for artists like Juno Nominated Lydia Ainsworth, Havelin and LA based New Language garnering over 12 Million spotify spins. In early January 2019, the itch for his own record came back, and he booked out his own calendar for a month to finish his first record.
Being born with mixed heritage and spending his formative school years in the southern states, Dajaun brings a unique take on adapting to and living in rural culture. His music pulls hints from his Caribbean heritage and his southern folk rock upbringing and slams them into his unique blend of pop punk. With no plan to leave the studio, don’t expect to see this project on the road any time soon.
This is a labour of love from a music producer showcasing the sounds he grew up loving, and working on a record made up of his own influences and experiences. This is Dajaun - ‘Social Chameleon’.
