Syrian-British musician Dalati makes rock music shaped by a lived experience of growing up between cultures, countries, and online. With a mixed Syrian and British upbringing, he blends Western rock with Middle Eastern scales to reflect the realities of living between identities. His debut EP, Caveman of the Internet, explores themes of digital alienation, cultural dissonance, and the tension between isolation and connection.
Dalati is especially interested in the experiences of ‘third culture kids’—those who don’t share a single cultural reference point but connect through life experiences which are often characterised by a feeling of dislocation and a disoriented sense of identity. His music doesn’t aim to represent a fixed identity, but to create space for those navigating hybrid, global, and often digitised lives.
Influenced by bands like System of a Down and Nirvana, his songs use musical contrast to express emotional and social conflict. His work is direct, reflective, and grounded in the search for connection beyond heritage or appearance.
