Dan & Dale were a non-existent outfit (sometimes referred to in reference sources as the Sensational Guitars of Dan & Dale), "created" by producer Tom Wilson for the credit on one album in 1966. To the degree that they existed at all, Dan & Dale were Sun Ra, Danny Kalb, Steve Katz, Andy Kulberg, Roy Blumenfeld, John Gilmore, Marshall Allen, Pat Patrick, Jimmy Owens, Tom McIntosh, and maybe (though he denies it) Al Kooper, all from the ranks of Sun Ra & His Solar Myth Arkestra and the Blues Project. They cut one session, so far as anyone knows, at a small studio in New Jersey for the release of a dance music album, called Batman and Robin, which was mostly heard by kids under ten at the time.
