In 2016, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease; a bit of news that tends to spoil your whole afternoon. This irksome illness slowly inhibits your ability to control the movement of your hands, feet, limbs, and torso. I decided not to let the condition define me. So, among other things, I took up tennis in good weather and have taken to producing watercolor paintings, poetry, and music for when the days aren’t so sunny. In a way, I have Parkinson's to thank for my new-found, late-blooming “skills” in the arts and for the joy they give me.
