As both an inward-facing storyteller and outward-facing social critic, Dan Friedman creates songs with emotional punch that leave you with something to hold onto, whether that be a familiar experience of internal pain or incisive commentary of the often nonsensical outer world. In his latest release, “Tides”, Dan builds on his emotionally charged sound, interspersing sharp guitar lines and raw vocals with a thumping rhythm section that keeps the listener moving without pause and touches on themes of familiar battles with mental health. Mixed and produced by the accomplished Ryan Corn (@ryancornmusic), the EP at times evokes more of an indie pop flavor but still remains true to Dan’s rock-driven roots. His next collection of songs will be released in 2024.
