Daniel Masuch

Daniel Masuch studied harpsichord and jazz piano at the conservatories of Münster, Arnhem and Hamburg. Daniel Masuch's piano playing was particularly influenced by lessons with Rob van den Broeck and John Taylor. Courses with Richie Beirach, Enrico Pieranunzi and Paul Bley completed his studies. Bill Evans, Lyle Mays, Fred Hersch and Alan Pasqua can also be mentioned as indispensable influences.
For many years Daniel Masuch has been active with releases, radio and television appearances, and concerts with a wide variety of jazz and baroque ensembles. In addition to his versatile work as a sought-after accompanist and solo pianist, he has also been able to make a name for himself as a composer and arranger. In 2014, he released a track at the invitation of Tokyo label Impartmaint on a Bill Evans tribute album alongside artists such as Danny Gottlieb, John Abercrombie and the Kronos Quartet. In addition to his highly acclaimed solo improvisations, which regularly include works by J.S.Bach, Daniel Masuch is also considered a proven specialist in song accompaniment.
His pedagogical activity since 2007 at the Music Pedagogical Institute of the Westphalian Wilhelms - University of Münster with an artistic teaching assignment for jazz piano is certainly also worth mentioning.
