Regarding his work on the latter's 2022 album I Could Get Used to This, Flood magazine writes, "The way [the synthesizers] mesh with Daniel Sohn’s gorgeous string arrangement is kind of miraculous. Just a magical moment."
Of his 2019 single Dreamboat, Tome to the Weather Machine writes, "An ethereal chamber-pop earworm...expertly produced woozy, disorienting production finds Sohn's voice filling all available space from keyed up vocal lines that interpose as melodic fragments, to choral phrasings that introduce a strong melodic hook. The deliberate ornateness (albeit produced in a bedroom) recalls Crosby Stills and Nash at their most baroque and laid back."
