In 2025, Sonoma-based American songwriter Daniel Steinbock releases his sophomore album, &#39;My Still Untitled Life.&#39; The album&#39;s title alludes to the quixotic quest for a simple, sayable purpose to our numbered days. It&#39;s a song cycle of tenderness, love, and death from the sublime lyricist personally championed by contemporary folk greats like <a href="spotify:artist:5sXaGoRLSpd7VeyZrLkKwt" data-name="Gregory Alan Isakov">Gregory Alan Isakov</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7ytgyYmtUPfxXHsXEvgObK" data-name="John Craigie">John Craigie</a>.

&#34;The genesis for this album was the death of a friend in a San Francisco bicycle accident in 2019. The spiritual heart of the record is &#34;Lying in the Lap&#34;, a song I wrote for her, from the perspective of her longtime partner, as a means to unbottle my own grief — and gesture at the possibility of a Great Love that goes beyond life and death.&#34;

Daniel Steinbock was born and raised on the California coast north of the Golden Gate, the only child of a sailor and a librarian. A singer-songwriter in the sublime lyrical tradition of <a href="spotify:artist:2CvCyf1gEVhI0mX6aFXmVI" data-name="Paul Simon">Paul Simon</a>, Sam Beam (<a href="spotify:artist:4M5nCE77Qaxayuhp3fVn4V" data-name="Iron &amp; Wine">Iron &amp; Wine</a>), and <a href="spotify:artist:6v8FB84lnmJs434UJf2Mrm" data-name="Neil Young">Neil Young</a>, pre-apocalyptic love songs and spare folk poems fill his song book with a rare spiritual nakedness.
