Delivering a rare earnestness, Melbourne singer/songwriter Danny Baeffel doesn’t just write music, he lets the music write him. Baeffel has already been a part of several successful music projects spanning pop, metal, punk rock, country, and just about everything in between, but this is perhaps his most honest and personal of them all.
As front man for Brock Downey (Sony/ Roadshow), The Scissor File (Faultline and Pee Records) and Cisco Rose (Independent), Baeffel came to a fork in the road of his career and decided to let his guitar gather some dust, while he moved on with life. Soon enough though, world travels and some life-altering relationships would unlock his passion, and the music tracked him down again. Danny Baeffel clicked open the dusty guitar case, picked a chord to start, and a new collection of songs came pouring out – many of which make up the Drinkin’ EP.
“’Drinkin’ represents an element of freedom in letting an album become what it was meant to be, “I’ve been a million different versions of myself, and made just as many mistakes. With “Drinkin’”, it feels like the first time I was totally comfortable to let all those versions of myself live in the music. Is it perfect? Maybe not, but genuine, absolutely.”
The Drinkin’ EP delivers a rowdy slice of rock/country at an arvo booze-up around the fire where everyone’s invited, playing bookend to Baeffel’s upcoming release “Hurtin’” in the last quarter of 2020. The wheels on the truck keep rolling, jump in!
