Dara Bubamara (b. 21 May 1976, Novi Sad) has been a force in Balkan pop-folk music since 1989. After debuting with the Dara Bubamara Show Band (Košava sa Dunava, 1993), she launched a celebrated solo career in 1995 with Dosada. Over her 13 studio albums, Dara sold over 1,500,000 records and earned multiple platinum hits.
Throughout the late ’90s and early 2000s, Dara built a catalog of successful albums including Ja neću da ga vidim (1996), Dunav (1997), Nisu to kiše (1999), Dvojnica (2001), and Polje jagoda (2003), with hits like “Polje jagoda,” “Javite mi, javite,” and “Vero, nevero.”
Her 2005 album continued her ascent, but it was 2007’s album that became a commercial high point, selling over 350,000 copies and producing long-lasting hits like “Zidovi,” “Dobro jutro nikome,” “Pali mali,” and “Dodirni me”.
Album 2010 marked a bold stylistic refresh and was met with massive commercial success including “Ciao Amore,” “Ne planiram,” “Mami, mami,” “Ona te pali,” and “Mili moj.”
Dara 2013 compiled her digital-era hits like “Galama” and “Delete,” after which she released 2017, combining fresh material and fan favorites. That album’s success culminated in a sold-out Štark Arena show for over 18,000 spectators.
In March 2025, Dara returned with 2025, a 12‑track album featuring hits “Bye, bye,” “Ilegala,” “Žena kreten,” “Ogledalo” and “Šifra 382.” The record cements her evolution into contemporary club-folk, effortlessly blending modern sounds with her signature style.
