Dara began her music career in 2012 with the release of her single "Open Your Eyes," which she performed as part of the Eurovision Song Contest. In the same year, she released two collaborations with the famous band Carla's Dreams, both of which were well-received by the public. Her early achievements were rewarded with prestigious titles such as "Best New Artist" and "Best Female Artist," and for three consecutive years, she was recognized as the most-played female artist in Moldova.
Born and raised in Moldova, Dara made the decision to expand her career and establish herself in the Romanian music scene by moving to Bucharest in 2017. There, she continued to release her own music while also working as a songwriter for renowned artists such as Irina Rimes, Misha Miller, Holy Molly, Sasha Lopez, Satoshi, , Puya, Antonia, Alina Eremia, Theo Rose, Andrei Ursu etc.
In 2022, Dara released her debut album, Ruleta, a project that solidified her position in the Romanian and Moldova.
Between 2023 and 2025, she focused on her second album, Zenit, which was released on September 19, 2025.
