Darien Dorsey is a Los Angeles based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer.
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Darien was raised in a musical family. Shortly after attending Berklee College of Music, he relocated to New York before eventually settling in Los Angeles — contributing to numerous television shows, commercials, films, and recordings; most notably (as a multi-instrumentalist/ string arranger) on Mary J. Blige's Golden Globe & Academy Award — nominated song "Mighty River".
In his debut album, 19SEVENTYFREE, Darien provides a refreshingly bold take on the golden era of R&B, gospel, and psychedelia. 19SEVENTYFREE’s overarching story speaks to themes that range from desperation to freedom, disappointment, rejection, and optimism.
