Dark Dark Black

An emo-charged grunge outfit from San Luis Obispo County, CA, dark dark ʞɔɐlq was built around the core duo of vocalist/guitarist Shawn Scott and bassist/ guitarist/ drummer Justin Van Eck (<a href="spotify:artist:6s9tUzmH43U1cAEkifXpb0" data-name="SKLTN CHR">SKLTN CHR</a>).


Formed in early 2013, the duo introduced drummer Tony Colvin on their early demo BANSHEES (2013).


Late 2013, the trio entered the studio to record their first full-length album. Before the album was complete, the album’s recording engineer stole the tapes and released them online for profit. The album was never completed and the recordings are forever known as “the lost sessions”.


In February 2014, singer Shawn Scott enlisted in the army and the band was ultimately disbanded.


4 years later, in 2018,dark dark ʞɔɐlq released the song “The Otherside” via social media. The song was written and recorded via internet by Shawn Scott and Justin Van Eck, while Scott was stationed in Mons, Belgium and Van Eck in California.


Late 2018, dark dark ʞɔɐlq announced a new ep via social media. In March 2019 the “Untitled - EP” was released. Available now on all major music downloading/ streaming services.
