Indie rock outfit Darling Darlene let the skeletons out of the closet in their moody and naive approach to pop songwriting. The project is a clash between country and disco, arrangement and intuition, sincerity and stupidity in a 00’s fighting game arena, where the sharp pixelated edges are smoothed over by a dense mist.
This mist leaves you stumbling through blurry sonics and unclear narratives circling estrangement, strandedness and Sisyphean perseverance. Blindly, your hand catches a thread.
