DATURA was born in 1991 from an idea by Stefano Mazzavillani and Ciro Pagano. The name is borrowed from the plant mentioned in Carlos Castaneda's book "The Teachings of Don Juan" and in the Italian comic "Tex Willer". DATURA began their sonic adventure by involving two important DJs from the Techno scene of the early 1990s: Ricci and Cirillo, with whom the collaboration continued until 1995. Over the years, they have released several successful singles and albums and collaborated with many famous artists, and are considered among the founding fathers of Trance music. Since 2006, they have been the "scientific disseminators" of 1990s music, through their television and radio shows, compilations, and live DJ sets. Leading actors of numerous formats over the years, they are now focused on the successful "DATURA CLUB 90s," a perfect synthesis of past, present, and future. And the story continues...
