DÅUW is the singer-songwriter duo Maiken Vanoverberghe and Pieter Maeseele.
We just wanna play and dance the night away. That's how they met at Funky Friday parties somewhere in Flanders Fields.
Originally, they find each other in covering their favorite songs. Before long, they create their own versions of them. Inevitably, original work follows as well.
They perform at weddings and garden parties, local fairs, and in city theaters.
In 2024, they DIY record their first four songs: Marvel, Hurricane, Control, and Mountain. Marvel is accompanied by a music video showcasing highlights from their adventures in 2023.
Two voices, melancholic songs, and pounding rhythms. Intimate and exuberant at the same time.
DÅUW is about what it means to be human. About life as a series of impressions and emotions. Which settle down at night as a layer of mist and small droplets, forming a small winding river that gives us direction.
But hey … We just wanna play and dance the night away.
