Davd the Pianist, is a celebrated jazz pianist and visionary musician. With three albums, including the flagship Bramba, Langley fuses traditional swing, Latin jazz, and electric fusion, drawing influence from legends like Omar Sosa, Chick Corea, and Indra Lesmana. His unique style merges the rich traditions of jazz with the rhythms of SEGA, a Mauritian folk genre, creating his own "Segazz" sound—a blend that brings new textures to jazz performance.
A two-time SAMRO bursary recipient and a multiple award-winner, Langley’s accomplishments include prestigious solo jazz and choir accompaniment awards. His career has taken him to international stages across Europe and the UAE, with standout performances as a resident pianist at iconic venues like The Beverly Hills Hotel in Umhlanga and the Intercontinental Hotel in Doha.
Beyond performing, Langley is an educator and music innovator, developing a jazz history curriculum, online teaching methods, and music education materials. He is currently pursuing an honors degree in music, exploring Harmonic Resonance Theory, a groundbreaking concept investigating how musical frequencies, like 432 Hz, influence human emotion and social cohesion.
With a passion for connecting through music and a dedication to his craft, Langley continues to expand his impact both on stage and in academia. His work not only pushes jazz boundaries but also seeks to deepen our understanding of music's resonance with the human experience.
