Dave Bristow Quintet

Dave Bristow is a pianist and composer from Birmingham.


Graduating from the University of Manchester with a BMus (Hons) Degree in Music and with a Masters Degree (MMus Jazz Piano Performance) from Leeds Conservatoire he has been mentored by <a href="spotify:artist:6oXieOD3dHfCCmmy96W2eR" data-name="Gwilym Simcock">Gwilym Simcock</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5KAxF8BtuqO5emnRCjorwk" data-name="Kit Downes">Kit Downes</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4MBuvOQmB4HAJbd4sXGGXD" data-name="Les Chisnall">Les Chisnall</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6MmcywddJdQTbdZWMnqpCa" data-name="Jamil Sheriff">Jamil Sheriff</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2VFShWdG38bu4QAaZ2cdsA" data-name="Philip Grange">Philip Grange</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6tqBiG5uys7HJUnDP2cA9H" data-name="Camden Reeves">Camden Reeves</a> and Richard Whalley.

Currently based in Paris, he is fast emerging
as one of the most original and talented jazz musicians in Europe. His main project is the Dave Bristow Quintet - a multinational supergroup - for which he writes all the compositions.

His debut album ‘Unknown Unknown’ featuring <a href="spotify:artist:6xlrY1LAN2CxL1BxSdzNRx" data-name="Olga Amelchenko">Olga Amelchenko</a>, Christian Altehülshorst, Gabriel Pierre, Guillaume Prévost and guest appearances from <a href="spotify:artist:32g82EyGbUbyC2tpM8He5b" data-name="Simon Moullier">Simon Moullier</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5VhECTqYomp7HNwQrzQYNL" data-name="Caloé">Caloé</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:18GnOSPvczkz15SKfCtTTp" data-name="Gustave Reichert">Gustave Reichert</a> is out now!


The album has been played on several radio stations including TSF Jazz (1st March on Deli Express), France Musique (1st March on Open Jazz with Alex Dutilh) and FIP (21st February on Club Jazzafip) and has been favorably reviewed in Jazz Magazine (#747 April 2022) and Jazz News (#95 April-May 2022)

He is currently working on a new record for the quintet, estimated to be released some time in 2023.
