Dave DK

Dave DK is an alias of Berlin-based techno producer David Krasemann, whose atmospheric, detailed, minimal techno tracks have been released by notable German dance labels such as <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Kompakt%22">Kompakt</a>, <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Pampa%22">Pampa</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:4SHJy0dhZX8IYXpDtQ3IVo">Playhouse</a>. Krasemann began producing techno tracks as a teenager in the mid-'90s, and released his first singles, under the simple moniker Dave, on German minimal techno labels such as <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22M%C3%BCller+Records%22">Müller Records</a> and <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Raum...musik%22">Raum...musik</a>. He became a resident DJ at Berlin's legendary Tresor/Globus club in 1999. Dave's debut full-length, Sensory Overload, appeared on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22M%C3%BCller+Records%22">Müller Records</a> in 2000, displaying his knack for creating swirling tracks with intricately programmed beats. Dave briefly changed his recording alias to DK in 2002 for a collaborative EP with <a href="spotify:artist:161l2RwVLJsieZ44STGh3T">Jaxson</a> on the <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Cadeaux%22">Cadeaux</a> label. He then switched to the name <a href="spotify:artist:2XAtKWK8x2cnynSLBuEhbv">DK Berlin</a> in 2004 for the release of the "Swing" 12" single on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Regular%22">Regular</a>. Finally, he settled on Dave DK that year, releasing several singles on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Television+Records%22">Television Records</a>, and signing to <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Moodmusic%22">Moodmusic</a> in 2005. Dave DK released the Rainshower EP, his first of many collaborations with <a href="spotify:artist:4g0fzFrFqUxDi1FnGaDWKR">Holger Zilske</a>, on <a href="spotify:artist:4SHJy0dhZX8IYXpDtQ3IVo">Playhouse</a> in 2006. Lights and Colours, his first full-length as Dave DK and a further refinement of his accessible yet tightly crafted minimal house style, appeared on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Moodmusic%22">Moodmusic</a> in 2007. The label also released Retake One, his first continuously mixed CD, in 2010. Dave DK signed with Cologne minimal techno/pop ambient powerhouse <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Kompakt%22">Kompakt</a> in 2013, releasing the Palmaille EP on the label that year. He also released a split 12" with <a href="spotify:artist:7jwr4u2dosje3G0DbmLxtz">Ricoshëi</a> on <a href="spotify:artist:1kR99O4MgSTasyeJh8UFCg">DJ Koze</a>'s <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Pampa%22">Pampa</a> label in 2014.
