My new single. "Hopium", conjures up a dreamy sonic landscape filled with chiming guitars, swirling organ, and misty piano to aurally express the delusions of his hopes. It’s only human to hold out belief in something you love and desire; even when the walls are crumbling. It’s hard to accept failure. Instead, we envelop ourselves in a bubble of wishful thinking by drawing a deep breath of an invisible potion known as “Hopium”. Our anxiety is cast aside, and our judgement is altered as we fill our body and brain with the something more intoxicating than drugs. That something is.... hope.
I produced & recorded "Hopium" in my home studio in LA. I'm singing, playing piano, guitars, bass and Hammond over a drum track by ex-Driftwood Soul , Bryon Holley on drums. "Hopium" is influenced by <a href="spotify:artist:3WrFJ7ztbogyGnTHbHJFl2" data-name="The Beatles">The Beatles</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0k17h0D3J5VfsdmQ1iZtE9" data-name="Pink Floyd">Pink Floyd</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7jefIIksOi1EazgRTfW2Pk" data-name="Electric Light Orchestra">Electric Light Orchestra</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:4bthk9UfsYUYdcFyqxmSUU" data-name="Tears For Fears">Tears For Fears</a> .
