Dave Nellessen is a solo artist, music producer, songwriter and guitarist.
Born in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Dave began playing electric guitar at the age of 12, then got into songwriting at 17. After his rock band broke up and his teenage dreams of fame and glory were shattered, Dave never stopped working on his dream of making it in music. After being rejected from music college multiple times, Dave taught himself how to produce music from his bedroom, continuing to write songs and play guitar for the next couple of years, which eventually led to opportunities to work with artists in the music industry, with him staying in the background.
In 2022, the dots finally started to connect when Dave eventually decided to now also sing on his songs and put out his own music. The songs are the culmination of a decade spent working on his craft. Writing, producing, singing, mixing and mastering all by himself in his home studio, he blends retro synthesizer sounds, guitars and modern pop elements to create a dreamy, nostalgic vibe. Melancholy with a hopeful undertone, always with the intention of creating a soundtrack for his own life, as well as for other daydreamers and the kids in the back of the class who are trying to find their way. His debut album ‘Like Yesterday‘ includes a wide range of heartfelt, introspective songs about his teenage years and growing up, while all-along holding on to his lifelong dream of finding an audience for his music someday.
