Davey Bob Ramsey was taught to play folk songs on the guitar at the age of nine by an Irish Catholic nun in Dubbo (Western New South Wales), starting with the murder ballad 'Tom Dooley'. He has gone on to play with a number of bands and write a number of songs. His debut album 'Listener' (produced by David Virgin) was released in 2005 (under the name David Ramsey). In 2012 Davey Bob took up the 5-string banjo, and the following year released the self-produced album 'Attic Songs', featuring the instrument. He currently resides in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales and continues to write, perform and record music. He also teaches folk guitar to the young folk of the region, the same way he was taught back in the day.
