I'm a songwriter born and bred in Darlington—a town in the North East of England, often credited as the birthplace of the railways. My love of songwriting began with an obsession: The Who, especially the albums Tommy and Quadrophenia, which showed me how music could tell powerful, emotional stories.
I’ve always been drawn to the narrative behind the lyric. Writers like Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf, Diane Warren, Bon Jovi, and later Brandy Clark made me realise that a great song doesn’t just sound good—it says something. I’m always asking, What is this writer really trying to tell me?
I’m an okay singer—good enough to get the idea across. These days, I use tools like Suno to bring my songs to life and give people a real sense of how they could sound. But ultimately, I write with other voices in mind. My songs are just waiting for great singers to step in, take them over, and make them their own.
