One of the weirdly monikered bands to come out of London's Antifolk scene of the fading years of the 21st century's first decade, David Cronenberg's Wife formed one of the blueprints for the next decade's South London DIY guitar band scene, typified by The Fat White Family and Meatraffle. Led by songwriter Tom Mayne, the only stable member in a group -- of sorts -- formed in 2004, they released their first single, "I Couldn't Get Off," in 2007. A debut full length, Bluebeard's Rooms, followed in 2008 to further critical acclaim. They supported The Fall in 2010. In Spring 2020, the band released their fourth album "The Ship (Necrologies)" on Blang Records. They are currently working on their fifth album and are supporting Jeffrey Lewis on his upcoming UK tour in September 2024.
