David Kirton is a quiet Caribbean storm, cool winds, bits of sun and biting rain. He has been awarded (4) Barbados Music Awards including Reggae Artist, Song and Video of the Year, National Independence of Creative Arts Silver Medal and The Barbados Music Cornerstone Award. A well-received Midem Cannes Showcase in 1999 started his International journey, UP report headlined 'David Kirton tops new artists at MIDEM’. He was the first non-Jamaican signed by the prestigious RAS Records, toured the United States with The Spirit of Unity Tour, appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, toured with Culture, multiple festival appearances. Canadian National Campus Review wrote 'Kirton has busted out of the box blending elements of reggae, soul, rock and pop into a contemporary yet natural sound, which he then delivers with his exotically smooth, soul dipped voice’. Time for Change entered the Canadian National Urban charts at # 12 and National club play at #23. Free to Fly music video hit # 5 on the MTV Canada & Green Camouflage charted regionally holding the #1 on MTV Tempo for over 14 weeks. David’s unique &accessible ‘feel good’ sound is displayed on his 5th studio album ‘All Island’, produced & recorded in Jamaica with Mikie Bennett. Peppered with infectious hooks, solid drums and bass and tight harmonies, we find reflections of personal and universal truth.
