"Why do you write like your'e running out of time?" These words, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, have stuck with me since I first listened to the Hamilton soundtrack. This world spins around and nothing we do can stop it. With so little time, there is much to explore. Writing stories and songs has become one of the things I need to do during my time on this Earth. Even though I've been writing music for over two decades, I feel like I'm just scratching the surface of the tales I need I to write.
My heart is tied to those I love and the beauty of the forests and waters that move outside my home in the upper Midwest. These themes echo throughout the projects I release. My most recent album is called "Rise." The songs are about hope in trouble times. Mastered at Carpet Booth Studios in Rochester, Mn and artwork by Landon Sheely.
My first studio album “The Man in the Pines” is a companion piece to my first novel of the same name. It was released in early 2020. The novel “The Man in the Pines” explores love, loss, friendship, hubris and conservation and as it re-imagines the life of the logging folk legend, Paul Bunyan and can be ordered online or through your local book seller.
