David released 200 songs &amp; fronts alternative band <a href="spotify:artist:0NxcGRgUW3fbDr76tdV56M" data-name="Doolittle">Doolittle</a> with <a href="spotify:artist:5pgureWBGb0LSpd6IeURAC" data-name="Nordista Freeze">Nordista Freeze</a>, Gemma Guttenberg, &amp; Davis Rowe (<a href="spotify:artist:7MJBivXsykJUNKMUKfKfgx" data-name="Whitehall">Whitehall</a>). <a href="spotify:album:1y7kzWsVybtaey2iZqO4Sc" data-name="Secret Saturday">Secret Saturday</a> &amp; <a href="spotify:album:4UpUd20rfUxIvb3heT4ADM" data-name="Summer Hiatus &#39;24">Summer Hiatus &#39;24</a> prove songwriting is his trade, doubling down on what he knows best — anthemic choruses &amp; a memoir-like penmanship.

Born July 3, 2000, in Nashville, Tennessee, David was raised in a musical family, collaborating with his sister, Emmy Russell, and grandmother, Loretta Lynn. His father introduced him to key influences like <a href="spotify:artist:6ZLTlhejhndI4Rh53vYhrY" data-name="Ozzy Osbourne">Ozzy Osbourne</a> &amp; the <a href="spotify:artist:1co4F2pPNH8JjTutZkmgSm" data-name="Ramones">Ramones</a> .

On Christmas Day 2016, David began uploading original songs to SoundCloud, influenced by bands like Modern Baseball &amp; Weezer. These songs have been self-released as part of his annual “Summer Hiatus” compilation. He didn’t fit into Nashville, but he often attended &amp; hosted DIY shows.

He moved to New York City in 2020. In March of 2021 he formed the band The Gold Standard. By January 2022, they held a residency at the Bitter End. In 2023, producer Billy Mannino (<a href="spotify:artist:63GTn25wbdRNX3ijCHvYxD" data-name="Oso Oso">Oso Oso</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1b1pwTnc2DJVXGy8pniShT" data-name="Macseal">Macseal</a>) worked with the him on his track <a href="spotify:track:1q477RXYvZwP9iu7LhaW8g" data-name="Breaking Down &amp; Feeling Low">Breaking Down &amp; Feeling Low</a>, re-released 2 years later under <a href="spotify:artist:0NxcGRgUW3fbDr76tdV56M" data-name="Doolittle">Doolittle</a>. In 2024, he joined <a href="spotify:artist:5pgureWBGb0LSpd6IeURAC" data-name="Nordista Freeze">Nordista Freeze</a> on tour, which motivated him to distribute his music, previously exclusively on SoundCloud.
