Dawn & Dupree is a new musical collaboration between songwriters <a href="spotify:artist:0Bmjykn6NrXq1BLkGPf8lF" data-name="Alex Dupree">Alex Dupree</a>
(full catalogue on Bandcamp) and <a href="spotify:artist:0XXvWMUIAgVgP1upEu8hAR" data-name="Iva Dawn">Iva Dawn</a> (Whitney Mower). Turns out they both lived in Austin and Houston during the same stretch of years, but didn't properly meet until one night at a bar in Los Angeles. A shared affection for classic country and good storytelling brought them together (and a little tequila didn't hurt either). Soon enough they were sharing playlists filled with artists like George & Tammy and Nancy & Lee, and the idea for a duets project came to life. On March 19th 2019, Dawn and Dupree released their first two singles "California Worryin'" and "It's Only Me" with LA label Cosmic Dreamer on 7" vinyl and online, as well as a music video for “California Worryin’.”
