Day Oshee Maatin

Day Oshee Maatin is an artist that expresses herself through playfully cerebral lyrics and production that borrows inspiration from trap, binaural grooves, and diasporic culture. Her life speaks to the possibilities we create when we follow our heart and passions as they arise. Since releasing her debut EP Mind of a Practitioner in 2016, Day Oshee Maatin has released four albums that celebrate her as a channel and conduit that ushers listeners into alternate realms. Now she returns with new music and as the founder of AstroTrap Records.

Since beginning her spirited career as an emcee, Day Oshee Maatin continues to add to her creative arsenal. She began producing for herself, eventually executive producing her 2020 release Channeled Frequencies. Day continues to inspire listeners by releasing music through AstroTrap Records, the independent label founded 2021 in San Juan Puerto Rico, to celebrate and expand the genre Astrotrap; coined by Maatin to promote a round view of diasporic culture and spirituality.
