Daytoner began as a solo project by producer / DJ ‘Moss’ who collaborated with local musician friends to create 2 Daytoner LPs ('Sunburst Radio' & 'Synchronicity') and over a dozen remixes for artists including Smoove & Turrell, The Brand New Heavies, Renegades of Jazz etc. He’s also released a series of edits on 7 inch vinyl that have proved popular with DJs across the globe including superstars such as DJ Jazzy Jeff.
In 2015 Daytoner aimed to spread the word on his feel-good funk and soul by forming a festival touring band fronted by soul vocalist Lucy Richards with support from horns, keys, bass and guitars. They’ve since performed at over 50 UK festivals and events plus a dozen support shows for The Craig Charles Funk & Soul club nights, backing up regular radio support on his BBC shows.
Daytoner return in June 2022, releasing their second band LP 'Remote Connections' on limited edition vinyl, downloads and streaming platforms and the lead single from it 'Time' received airplay across BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 shows with reviewers describing it as "sizzling funk".
