De Meisjes

<a href="spotify:artist:2sS9KpH4fK922BMYsaH7qu" data-name="De Meisjes">De Meisjes</a> is the brain child of <a href="spotify:artist:26gAztjE1qOZ8kZFzoXZf6" data-name="Auke Hulst">Auke Hulst</a> and his brother Hans Hulst, both writers and multi-instrumentalists. The pair have been writing songs together since the age of ten, recording thousands of home demos without ever releasing a single song. Only after Auke recorded his solo debut <a href="spotify:album:2NA7SG3OBOZfuyPwip0G31" data-name="The Hidden Shape">The Hidden Shape</a> (2009) did Hans take the initiative to form the line-up for debut album <a href="spotify:album:42szFQLsoQZpc7vic9TMN0" data-name="Beter Dan Niets">Beter Dan Niets</a> (2012). For this album the band was joined by Theun Supheert of <a href="spotify:artist:41LyunJSUwio3jPgB84ihl" data-name="Anthony's Putsch">Anthony's Putsch</a> on drums and guitarist Christof Bauwens. For their sophomore effort, <a href="spotify:album:39ApDMM1KSdFPB14rtGRxF" data-name="Dokter Toestel">Dokter Toestel</a> (2015) the line-up was expanded with bass player André van der Werf.

Their third album, Scheepsrecht, is slated for release in the fall of 2020.
