Canadian rap group Dead Stock which brought a group of fellow Ottawa artists together has just released its first single “Outta Luck”.
The song opens with a dreamy and ethereal intro which then reveals a laid back beat courtesy of Def Starz via BIGSTUFF Productions.
Featuring on the vulnerable and introspective track are J.A.I Makes Music, Natural, and BIGSTUFF, formerly MC Pin of Organized Rhyme, who each take turns reminiscing about times when they were down and out of luck.
The single is especially timely as Canada and the world rebound from the pandemic.
“We’re in a time when a lot of people are down and out of luck, especially because of COVID”, Dead Stock explains.
“A lot of people feel they can’t trust the government because of the way they handled things, or the police because of all the police brutality. This song is a little something to remind people that we’ve all gone through challenges in life”
Since its release , the single has already been added to seven playlists (with a total of 29k followers) and the momentum doesn’t show any sign of stopping.
“Outta Luck” is available on all major streaming platforms.
