"Dead Trains riff with a sort of Reverend Horton Heat vocabulary. This band is tight and crazy. They’re a freak-out singing murder lyrics, but there’s a method to their madness that makes them easy to get into. Desert guitar sounds with a fully-realized rock and roll persona" - Spark & Fizz
"By infusing the muddy, powerful guitar-riff-prominent characteristics of blues with the driving force of punk, and outfitting it with the personality of Boston indie rock, Dead Trains have established an authentic sound" - Vanyaland
Formed in 2013, Dead Trains has constantly been playing every dingy basement, dive bar, or venue that they've been allowed into. After releasing 2015's County Road Bound, the Boston blues-punk trio upped their fast-paced high energy punk that they were already known for with 2017's 5-song EP, Big Fun. Singer/guitarist Matt Axten belts out down-on-your-luck lyrics that anyone who's ever looked up from the bottom of a bottle can relate to, while the rhythm section compiled of bassist Natan Keyes & drummer Steve Olson keeps the backbeat running and their quick synchronized tempo-changing will have your feet moving all night.
"Dead Trains are from Boston, but their country blues stomp sounds more Mississippi Delta than Mass. Ave. There’s a rambunctious hyperkinetic edge, though, that fits right into this town’s punk rock traditions." - Boston Survival Guide
