DDMARR - Guitar/Vocal MJ - Bass Jiwon - Keyboard/Vocal Wonseok - Drums
Deadbuttons’ first LP ‘Some Kind of Youth (2016)’ presented the harmony of explosive and ambitious sounds of garage punk and blues rock music made by two members in their early 20s and lyrical emotions from peculiar insecurity about the future as the young of the society.
Time after time, their contemplations and introspection for the sound which contains what they exactly want to express led to their second LP ‘Rabbit (2017)’. To show their musical identity more clearly by taking the initiative of their own sounds and the way to present them as independent artists, they recruited new members and self-produced the whole album from A to Z. They tried to maintain their focus on the message about generational traumas and social contradictions of the existing society with their own psychedelic vibes and cynical touch.
Now Deadbuttons are 4-pieced including a bassist, a keyboardist and the new drummer. They are taking part in embodying their unique sound and performances together under the baton of the original leading member Jihyun (guitar/voc.). 4 of them have been working on their new albums which will fully represent themselves in current form with totally different music from their early tunes. Especially ‘1’, the LP which has already been in the middle of recording and will be released the first in 2020, will show Deadbuttons’ energy and direction most certainly.
