DEATH BENEFITS is a slamming death metal band forged in the isolation and chaos of the 2020 COVID pandemic. Based in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the group delivers a crushing blend of brutal riffs, guttural vocals, and haunting atmospheres, tackling themes of death, grief, the afterlife, and inner rage with raw intensity and emotional depth.

DEATH BENEFITS released their self-titled debut EP on Christmas Day 2021, laying the foundation for their signature sound: slamming riffs, crushing breakdowns, and an undercurrent of grief and spirituality. Since then, they’ve dropped three standalone singles — “The Absence of Existence (A.O.E.)” in 2023, “Cowardice” in 2024, and “Yersinia Pestis” in January 2025, which marked the official debut of vocalist, Genoveve. The single premiered live on-air on El Paso’s 95.5 KLAQ, introducing the band's new era to a regional audience and cementing their presence in the borderland metal scene.

Their viral single "536" took off on TikTok and racked up over 50,000 streams across platforms — a major breakout that put them on the radar well beyond their home state.
