Based out of Columbus, Ohio, shape-shifting metalcore outfit Death of an Era specialize in a tech-heavy blend of classic, breakdown-heavy riffing and electro-infused, cinematic post-hardcore that has drawn comparisons to bands like Whitechapel, Sworn In, and Bring Me the Horizon. Founded in 2009 by vocalist Daniel Simpson, drummer Michael Cooper, bass player Chris Cooper, and guitarists Nathan Stewart and Dustin Colling, all of whom were in their teens at the time, the band released their debut EP, Great Commonwealth, in 2013 via Artery Recordings/Razor & Tie. The group's first studio long-player Black Bagged arrived the following year. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
