"Wait, is that Randy Blythe? A quick Google search reveals that, no, Blythe hasn’t been moonlighting for any doomy/stoner/thrashy bands recently. But I still swear that’s him in Death Valley Driver, just more, uh, Canadian! So the vocals are raw and dagnasty and damn good. But so is everything else — a great concoction of pummeling fuzz breakdowns and dramatic interlude. Think of it as the lovechild of Burn The Priest and High On Fire. Burn the Fire? High on Priest? Death Valley Driver. Lots of death-related stuff here, which is kind of metal, so I hear. Check out “Crimson Mask” if you’re short on time, cause it’s fuckin’ hay-o sexy. If you’ve got a Tuesday to burn, run the whole album. It shan’t disappoint." - Metalsucks
"Sounding like the bastard children of Down, Black Sabbath and High On Fire, the guitar riffs come fast and furious on this, Death Valley Driver’s sophomore record. Perhaps the easiest way to sum up the band’s sound is doom metal but death-metal inspired vocals (think Pantera’s Phil Anselmo but with even more growl)." - Musicnerd.ca
"Bearing in mind the nature of this beast, it’s fair to say that Graveyard Dead is best "experienced with headphones on and the volume cranked up as high as possible. It’s a heavy album packed full of delicious grooves and songs that maybe won’t get you smashing your head about, but are certainly hypnotic enough to ensure that, for thirty plus minutes, they've got your undivided attention." - PureGrainAudio
