Deathroom was one of the cult names of the Turkish metal scene in the 1990s, leaving an indelible mark on the underground music landscape.

The band was formed in 1989 in Istanbul by Hakan Nurcanlı (guitar-vocals) and Murat Çolbıyık (drums). With the addition of Serdar Sözen (bass), Deathroom reached its most recognized lineup. Throughout its active years, the band saw contributions from various musicians and became known as the first death metal and grindcore band in Turkish metal history.

In 1993, they released their only record, Violate The New Born, which gained significant attention in the underground scene for its raw intensity and the striking album cover, illustrated by Hakan Nurcanlı himself. However, the band disbanded in 1994, marking the end of their journey.

Despite their brief run, Deathroom made an unforgettable impact on the Turkish underground metal scene. Even 30 years after their disbandment, their music and legacy remain a vital part of Turkish metal history.
