Deborah Stokol is a modern-day bard who weaves musical fables inspired by life, humanity, literature, and myth.
Producing as Kairos Records since lockdown 2020, she has independently released 12 albums, two compilations, 20 EPs, and singles not part of the collections.
She just released her 12th album of original work, “In the Deep and Dazzling Darkness”. She shared “Illuminations” mid-2025 and “Hinterlands”, “The Lost Album: By Land and Sea, In Flight With Me / Thee”, and “Time's Cartographer" in 2024.
Her 7th album, "Awen", uses folklore from around the world as a springboard to express ideas about the human condition. This "Cauldron of Inspiration" work succeeds her records "Hearth Song", “Old Wives’ Tales", and “Bard" and with them forms a cohesive "Bardic Tetralogy."
She made her 1st album, "The Ill-Tempered Clavier," in quarantine, “Peregrine”’s tracking music from various styles, “Sylvan Soul"’s threading together many of her instrumental pieces.
A multi-instrumentalist singer-composer, she describes some of the music she makes as "Medieval Jazz", “Mystical Folk”, Space Noir Blues”, “Celtic Neoclassical”, and “Literary Dreamscape Vaudeville”.
A lover of Romanticism, she incorporates the natural world into her storytelling, using her recordings of wind, waves, bells, and birds.
She carefully crafts these songs and in them blends her backgrounds as a musician, writer, artist, and teacher.
She hopes to invite listeners into magical worlds of mystery.
