"Debra’s Dream" is a story telling adventure created by performing artist, Debra Shaw and pianist/composer, Alessandro Sgobbio in Paris, France 2014. "Debra's Dream" is their first studio collaboration accompanied with an ensemble of talented musicians merging their hypnotic grooves of jazz, funk, and soul.
The album opens with, "It’s A Soul Thing", a laid back jazz soul fusion with sensual vocals, followed by the avant-garde jazz funk tracks, "A Superfly Man" and "Success", all composed by Alessandro Sgobbio. The album closes with the cool, seductive bass groove track, "You Inspire Me", composed by bassist, Darryl Hall with improvised saxophone tones by Logan Richardson.
Debra Shaw allows her poetry to depict the wonders of the world while taking the audience on a lyrical journey led by a spiritual search for love, justice, respect, resolution, and happiness.
