Dede UK is an emerging artist with a passion for comedy and music. His new single Fake features Ghanaian artist Snowbell and expresses his view of society and life in Nigeria. Fake is mostly sung in Nigerian Pidgin but the message is understood universally. The line “I no dey shame oo all I wear is fake oo” indicates his acceptance of the difficulties of life to appear to be affluent but the fact of the matter is even celebrities wear fake jewelry and clothing to keep up appearances. At the end of the song, Dede speaks “No go dey do pass yourself oo, you go borrow money to buy designer, who you wan impress? Hello?!” He wants people to be proud of the fact that they can buy food, feed their families and buy clothes for themselves -even if they are fake!
