Rapper and singer Deemic signed to <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Cash+Money+Records%22">Cash Money Records</a> in 2019 and made his commercial debut that year with the carefree single "Late Night."
Deemic, born DeMichael Staes, sang in choirs as a youngster in his native New Orleans. Influenced by local stars such as <a href="spotify:artist:0rG0AZBscc8S8q1ahIsasI">Juvenile</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:55Aa2cqylxrFIXC767Z865">Lil Wayne</a>, as well as <a href="spotify:artist:5y2Xq6xcjJb2jVM54GHK3t">John Legend</a>, he started writing and recording material and in his late teens -- while attending college -- gained notice with his SoundCloud page. After the track "Homicide" considerably expanded his audience through multiple channels, he landed a contract with <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Cash+Money%22">Cash Money</a>.
