Deep Learning is the pseudonym of Richard Pike, an Australian-British composer, syntheist, singer and multi-instrumentalist.
His latest record Evergreen is “…constructed around skipping and CD glitch textures and dances like sunbeams through a prism” - Bandcamp’s New & Notable.
For TV/film he has scored drama including Romper Stomper, Australian Gangster, Les Norton and Year Of. Touring the world with his band PVT aka Pivot, he has released on Warp Records, performs with his trio Forgiveness on Gondwana Records, made art installation work with United Visual Artists and healing music for psychedelic therapy with Wavepaths, London.
As Deep Learning he has supported James Holden, Gold Panda and Andy Bell (Ride/Oasis). He has composed music and sound design for clients including Fedex, Adidas, Diesel, Hyundai, Nike, Jo Malone and more.
His music moves between atmospheric, minimalist to hybrid-orchestral. He runs Salmon Universe Records.
